Unique ID will not have information on income, religion and gender: Nilekani

The Chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India Nandan Nilekani said that the card will not have information about person’s income, religion or gender particulars.

He also said that a Committee will be appointed to look into number of biometrics signatures required in the Unique Identity Card.

He was speaking at the Platinum Jubilee of Indian Academy of Sciences in Bangalore on Thursday. The Committee will suggest whether the Unique ID card should only have finger prints or also DNA sample, retina map and demographic fields.
